Years ago, my brother-in-law had a business trip to Japan. I asked him to look for washi tape. He brought some back and I stored them away in a box. Recently, friends got together to make fabric and paper tape however I couldn't attend. My friend Kris surprised me by sending some rolls to me. I was so touched and was jumping up and down with glee (not a pretty sight). My new tape joined the other tapes and lived happily together.
Ok. Anything I store is out of sight/out of mind. I put on my thinking cap and came up with a way to store them in plain sight so I can use them.
Years ago (yea I collect treasures) I got my hands on some free vintage spinning spools. I also have boxes of picture frame corner samples from Freecycle (love free!). I grabbed some spools and a nice flat corner (a lot of my samples are carved or have ornate scrollwork) and glued them together. Hot diggity dog, it works perfectly to hold the tapes. The washi tape cylinders are a bit larger than the base of the spools so I added napkin rings to the spools that will hold the tapes. The napkin ring keeps the washi tape from dropping all the way down to the frame. I left spaces open on the frame in case I,ahem, buy more tapes so I can add two more spools.
Pretty cool huh!!
Cool! What a great idea!

Very cool - and, it's always nice to have the pretties out where you can see them.
