My last A&S in Portland was in 2006. The last few years, I couldn't find any classes calling my name until 2010.
I love Julie's and also Jessica's dolls. I've been wanting to learn how to mold and sculpt with paperclay and regular clay so I signed up for their classes. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and it felt good to be back in a class learning how to do something fun. They sure beat the classes and meetings at work.
The doll we made in Julie's class was called Walking Rusty. Julie had the doll's head ready for us to work on and her dh painted the body for us. Rusty was also painted and ready. We made our own heads and dog with the paperclay and while they were curing, we went to work on our dolls. Smart lady that Julie. Instead of sitting around waiting for clay to harden, we had items to work on. Here's my doll and she's finished (which is rare for me) and picture of Julie and me.
I still need to finish my Secrets Bust doll from Jessica's class. Right now, she's bald and nekkid and it wouldn't be lady like for her to make a public appearance yet.
Somehow, I always get a room that faces the airport. Its never on purpose, I don't think but I enjoy watching the sunset and the planes flying in for a landing.
